“Editorial: A hopeful breakfast points to better ways for all races” – Poughkeepsie Journal
On Friday, hundreds gathered at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center for the annual Catharine Street Center’s Martin Luther King Jr. breakfast. They heard uplifting speeches. They saw two companies get recognized for their workplace inclusion efforts. They listened to beautiful songs that warmed the soul, such as “What A Wonderful World.” They left feeling invigorated and confident that, in the words that Rev. King would sometimes cite in speeches, “Skin may differ, but affection dwells in black and white the same.”
