MLK High School College Scholarships

Annual Application Submission Deadline: October 31st

The Annual Martin Luther King, Jr Breakfast sponsored by the Catharine Street Legacy Committee is held in January (3rd. Friday). The MLK Breakfast honors community leaders in partnership with the Roosevelt Institute, provides scholarships to local youth who plan to pursue higher education.

Completed applications with all necessary information and attachments must be submitted by the deadline, electronically to cscenter1922@gmail.com.

Scholarship Criteria & Process

  • Dutchess County public high school seniors.
  • Must demonstrate academic achievements in school and involvement in community service.
  • Applicants who are invited for an interview, will be asked to provide a Letter of Support from either their district superintendent or the chair of the school’s board.
  • Selected students will be asked to provide a brief Bio with a head and shoulders photograph to be used to promote the event.
  • Recipient must attend an accredited college or university.
  • Scholarship is a one-time payment-paid directly to the institution.
  • Presentation of Awards: 3rd. Friday in January.    
  • Recipient’s Participation in the Awards Presentation is Required for Payment.
